Mothership Overnight
Kayak Adventures is excited to offer three different Mothership Overnight Tours this upcoming summer!
Visit a tidewater glacier in the Kenai Fjords National Park, head over to the less-visited Day Harbor, or enjoy two days exploring the endless coves and dramatic coastline of Resurrection Bay!
No matter your adventure goals, we have a Mothership overnight for you!
Kenai Fjords National Park
Head out into the Kenai Fjords National Park, where you will have the opportunity to paddle near Aialik Glacier, the largest tidewater glacier in the park! This overnight will include a good amount of motoring on the Mothership, as we will need to travel over 40 nautical miles to the head of Aialik Bay. Along the way we will be looking for whales, sea lions, and other wildlife while enjoying the dramatic coastline. Once we arrive at Aialik Glacier, we will launch the kayaks and paddle in the shadow of this magnificent glacier. After the paddle, we will return to the Mothership and head south in Aialik Bay and anchor for the night in one of its protected coves. The next day we will head back to Seward, enjoying the sights along the way!
This itinerary is best for those adventurers who are looking to visit the Kenai Fjords National Park and are excited about spending more time exploring on the Mothership than in a kayak.
DAy Harbor
For this Mothership Overnight we will head to the next fjord east of Seward, Day Harbor. This itinerary will be the perfect combination of time on the Mothership and kayaking in a remote, quiet, and less visited bay. We will motor to Day Harbor in the morning, all the while looking for wildlife, and potentially visit the dramatic Cape Resurrection. Once in Day Harbor, guests will enjoy paddling along the incredible coastline. We will anchor for the night in one of the well-protected coves in the bay. The next morning we will head off for a morning paddle before motoring back to Seward.
This itinerary offers the perfect combination of time on the Mothership and the opportunity to explore via kayak. Guests might also have the chance to take a short hike in this area as well.
Resurrection Bay
Our Resurrection Bay Mothership Overnight provides an incredible opportunity to explore the endless treasures of Seward's very own fjord, 'Res' Bay! There are a number of different coves, waterfalls, and short hikes for us to explore. With so many different areas to explore, the itinerary will change depending on your group's adventure goals. With two full days to explore 'Res' Bay, the options are endless!
This itinerary is best for adventurers who would prefer to motor for short distances and spend more time exploring via kayak.
